The idea of this open source project is to create a Low Code Workflow Automation Framework where it can integrate with any external system to help businesses and individual users to automate processes.
This framework ships with Web Service Connectors to integrate with popular external systems: Oracle Cloud, ServiceNow, AWS and more. By using this framework, users only need to focus on the "What to Automate" rather than "How to Automate".
In addition to the Connectors, the framework ships with predefined generic workflows such that with no or few changes required, one can automate and integrate business workflows.
The underline Connectors implementations in Script object using JavaScript and Shell Script.
It could integrate:
- LDAP
- ServiceNow Table and Workflow API
- Oracle PeopleSoft and Procurement
- Amazon Simple Workflow Service
We are planning to build connectors to connect to major Credit Bureaus so this framework can help the Banks andFinancial Institutions. (I worked in FinTech and it is so exciting to integrate with those legacy Cobol codes!)
Pre-made generic workflows are shipped out-of-box, users are required little or no changes to use these workflows. There are utility object in this framework e.g. Script object to made Web API, LDAP Integrations, and other made using the framework Low Code.
In an enterprise environment, the company relies on different IT solutions for different business processes. For example, HR Department uses Oracle Cloud, Sales Department uses Salesforce, and internally the company has it own IT requirements and process.
Now, this framework can integrate with all of them and create a parent workflow to automate and bring them together.
As a result, when HR Department made a hiring decision in Oracle Could to hire a new Sales Representative, this parent workflow will trigger IT Department processes to automate and setup new hires's phone and computer as well as engage with Salesforce integration so the new hire has the appropriate accounts to manage on the first day.
NodeRed, JavaScript, Shell Script are the building block of this framework.
Custom Scriptable Objects are implemented on this framework as Utility|Helper functions to provide Low Code experience.
The Connectors to integrate with external services are built on top of those Scriptable Objects.
